Prune Dumplings

1 egg 1/2 cup water 2 teaspoon baking powder 2 cups flour Pinch of salt Italian Prune Plums (fresh ones available in fall only) Additional melted butter and sugar
Beat egg and add salt and then water and beat again. Add flour and baking powder sifted together. Knead and cut into dumplings. Cover prune plums with the dumplings. Cook in boiling, salty water about 10 minutes. Test with toothpick (should come out clean). Serve with melted butter and sugar.
